Type of Opportunity: Apply for Funding

Deadline: April 5, 2018

USArtists International may be able to help fund

U.S. artists to perform at your festival.

USArtists International is a grant program managed by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation that helps fund U.S. dance, music, and theatre ensembles and solo artists invited to perform at important cultural festivals and performing arts markets anywhere in the world outside the United States and its territories.

USArtists International grants of up to USD $15,000 can support:

  • International Flights
  • Artist Fees
  • Per Diems
  • Lodging
  • Ground Travel
  • Visas
  • Shipping
  • Agent Fees
  • Some Registration Fees

Grant applicants and recipients are U.S. artists. Festivals can benefit from the program by making artists invited to perform at their festivals aware of the grant opportunity and USArtists International.

How artists receive grants:

1) Festivals must be curated, international in scope, and provide a signed letter of invitation to artists with engagement details and an explanation of financial or in-kind support being offered to the artist.

2) Artists confirm grant eligibility by reviewing the program guidelines. Artists apply for funding in September, December, or April and applications are peer-reviewed. Notification of grant awards occurs approximately 12 weeks after each deadline.

The next application deadline is April 5, 2018 at 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -04:00) for performances occurring at festivals

between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

Future application deadlines will be announced in July 2018.

In 2016-2017, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation funded nearly 1000 U.S. artists and technicians to travel to perform at festivals on six continents. Learn who USArtists International has funded and at which festivals worldwide.
