Since 2007, K3 has been granting eight-month residencies to three choreographers each season. The internationally unique residency program is aimed at international choreographers who are at the beginning of their professional careers and have already realized their first own choreographic work. The residence begins in mid-August and lasts until mid-April the following year.

Based on a work project, the residence offers time and space for artistic research and research. The aim is a close connection of choreographic practice, research / research, artistic production and qualification. At the end of the residence, the choreographers will present a full-length production, which will be presented as part of  TanzHochDrei with three performances.

The residency program includes a scholarship as well as a production budget, mentoring, dramaturgical support and further qualification offers. It is also closely linked to K3’s course and qualification offerings.

The tender of the K3 Residence takes place annually in early summer for the start of work in the following year. The application is only possible via the online form on the K3 homepage, which is activated during the application period. The form includes questions about the artistic education, motivation and work proposed for the residence.

The start and deadline of the application period will be announced via the K3 Newsletter .

In the season 2019/2020 Luísa Saraiva, Raymond Liew Jin Pin and Maria Zimpel K3 are resident choreographers. On 21.11. As part of the rehearsal stage , they  will give you an initial insight into their work processes. The resulting productions will be shown as part of TanzHochDrei in March 2020.
